Progress, Kinda

Larry started working on a new Chicken Pen today. He has finally decided that my suggestion is valid and that the barn is the perfect place. Of course decided to start on New Years day without planning ahead and buying materials was a setback. So the idea is laid out, somewhat of a start, and the rest will have to wait until Saturday or Sunday. That's fine though, it's a start. Something needs to be done, I keep having to remind myself that we still have the worst of the winter to tend with and the wind is getting colder and colder.
We also acquired a new red rooster today. He actually was origianlly ours and when we thinned out our roosters, he moved to our neighbors house and when our rhode island red passed away, we were in need of one. So we called her up and went and brought him home. I'm sure she will be rewarded with 2-3 to replace him when the young'uns are grown. We also decided that we may add a goat to our farm. Bo will be excited. We just have to decide where to put him. I secretly want a donkey also and an ostrich. But one step at a time. I do have a plan to get some ducks this summer. I believe I have it all planned out.
Larry also started working on the garden spot. A few more times with the tractor and some barn cleaning, and we will be in business come spring. I am not letting another year go by without a garden.
